Augusta Arsenal works with Soccer Shots Academy to deliver introductory sessions, while the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta has collaborated with Nike on multi-sport clinics that reached more than 4,700 youth across three counties. These efforts focus on removing cost and transportation barriers so more children can join teams near their homes.
The Augusta Sports Council has backed more than 800 community sports events since 1991, drawing 450,000 athletes and generating over $200 million in regional economic impact. That sustained activity keeps clubs visible and connected to schools, parks and families who return season after season.
University programs add visibility
Augusta University fields 13 NCAA Division II varsity sports, with its men’s and women’s golf teams now competing as affiliate members in the West Coast Conference for the 2025-26 season. The men’s basketball team completed a 26-win season, its strongest since 2016, while the women’s team reached the Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship.
